Cacao immersion Retreat September 2026

From Tree to Ceremony: A Cacao Immersion at Territorio de Origen

September 5 to 12, 2026 San Roque, Antioquia, Colombia 12 Guests Maximum

There are places in the world where cacao is grown. There are factories where it is made. There are ceremonies where it is honored. Territorio de Origen is all three, and there is nowhere else like it.

Nestled in the Andes two hours from Medellín, our 320-acre farm is home to a working cacao farm, an award-winning bean-to-bar chocolate factory, 175 acres of protected native forest, a river, and a waterfall. September is mid-peak harvest season.

What the week looks like

Mornings are for learning and doing, in the cacao fields helping the harvest, in the factory moving through every step from fermentation to finished chocolate, and with members of our community sharing the living tradition of cacao. Afternoons are yours, to swim, hike, rest, and explore. Some evenings bring the group together for ceremony, movement, and cultural sharing.

What you will experience

Learning the true history of cacao, and all about the trees.  Walking the cacao fields and harvesting ripe pods by hand. Learning fermentation, drying, roasting, cracking, winnowing, grinding and tempering in a real award-winning factory. Tasting rare and exotic cacao varieties from across Colombia. Sitting with cacao in ceremony. Hiking to a waterfall. Swimming in the river. Eating beautifully.
